David Lawson into finals of major Photo Awards
North East based photographer, David Lawson has won a merit prize in a major international photography awards.

 David is now in the finals of the forthcoming Master Photographer of the Year Awards 2011. The Awards are run by The Master Photographers Association (MPA), the UK’s most respected organisation for professional photographers.

David now goes forward to the final judging and faces a nervous few weeks while he waits until the Awards Ceremony in October when the overall winners will be announced. The Master Photography Awards 2011 presentations ceremony will be held at the Gateshead Hilton in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on Sunday 9 October.

MPA Chief executive, Colin Buck made this comment on David’s achievement: “It is exciting to reach the Merit award stage of judging as David was in competition with the very best photographers in the world. There were over 2,500 images submitted this year so to be awarded a Merit prize is a real success, well done to David , and good luck in the final!”

Last night at the Hilton Hotel Newcastle the North East Master Photographer 2009 took place and winning not 1 but 3 major awards from Fashion, Fuji 10 images from one wedding and also taking the Commercial Photographer of the year North East 2009.

This will be the a hattrick for the studio 3 wins in a row for the Fashion Photography award.

Davids team have been very busy creating there entries, selecting the finest images from 1000′s of shoots they have taken in the last 12 months.

“Fashion Photography is our Passion” not only for new clients looking for a model portfolio but also existing models wanting to freshen up there look.

When I first started in Fashion Photography (quite a few years ago), what really surprised me was that ‘Fashion’ was almost entirely in the eye of the beholder i.e. very subjective. It seems that the the old adage ‘style never goes out of fashion’ applies most definitely to Fashion Photography.

Take some of the shots by the old  fashion masters such as Herb Ritts, Richard Avedon and Irving Penn; their shots are timeless and while they record the Fashion of their time, their style is classical and very unique to the photographer.

This is what I try to achieve with my Fashion Photography;  a sense of style and (I hope) my signature techniques stamped all over them. I have restricted my Fashion shoots to a small circle of clients due to the limits on my own time, but in our studios we now have a new breed of Fashion Photography ‘young guns’ who are producing cutting-edge, award winning work , in their own unique style.

These new talents are waiting to create for you either in our comprehensively-equipped studios or ‘on location’ and together with our ‘state-of-the-art’ post production suites, we can really produce work that is stunning, stylish and unique.
