Below is an outline of UK Passport and Visa Photo Requirements we can also take USA Visa passports pictures.

• Two identical photos are required for UK passport applications
• The passport photos must be 45mm by 35mm
• The background must be light grey
• The passport photo must stand out clearly against the background
• UK passport photos must be printed on low gloss high quality photographic paper
• The UK passport photos you submit must copyright free
• The photos must be undamaged,ie.no creases caused by paper clips
• Other people of objects must not be visible in your passport photos
• The head size in the UK passport photo must measure between 29 and 34mm
• The above measurement is from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head (without hair)
• There must be no writing on the back or the front of UK Passport Photos
• The passport and visa photos must be properly focused and clear
• Professional printing is required. for British Passport Photos
• No shadows are allowed in UK passport and visa photos
• You must be facing forwards and looking straight into the camera
• You expression must be neutral in you British passport photo
• Do not show your teeth and keep your mouth closed for Uk Passport Photos
• Grinning, raised eyebrows and frowning are unacceptable in UK Passporty Photos
• Your eyes must be open and clearly visible in British Passport Photos
• There must be no hair obscuring your eyes, sunglasses or tinted glasses
• There must no flash reflections from glasses in Uk Passport photos
• The frame of the glasses must not cover up any part of your eyes
• We advise our customers to remove their glasses for their UK passport photos
• Head coverings are allowed only for religious or medical reasons in UK passport photos

UK Baby Passport Photos

Generally, the rules for baby passport photos are relaxed slightly due to the difficulty in getting babies under one year old to look at the camera. However , there is no agreed standard between countries for baby passport photos

UK passport Photo Guidelines for Children under the age of 5.

Because of the difficulties in photographing children under the age of 5 for UK passport photos the regulations are slightly more relaxed as per the guidelines below

• The passport photo should be a good likeness of the baby
• Babies do not need a neutral expression in passport photos
• The head of the baby does not need to be straight
• The colour of the eyes should be clearly visible in baby passport photos
• The baby does not need to look straight into the camera

For Baby Passport Photos under the age of 6 months, the baby does not have to have their eyes open. However there should be no supporting hands visible. We normally advise parents to place supporting hands underneath the babies clothing which normally produces acceptable UK baby passport photos

The passport photos regulations for children over six are the same for adults with the exception that the head size can be between 21mm and 34mm.

Below is the USA Visa and Passport requirments

U.S. passport photo requirements do differ from British and European photo requirements. Because of the way the photos are digitized, we are unable to accept any photos that do not meet these specifications.

1. All photographs must taken within the last 6 months and be 2" by 2" (two inches by two inches), excluding any borders;
2. Make sure the photo presents the full head from top of hair to bottom of chin; height of head should measure 1 inch to 1-3/8 inches (25mm to 35mm);
3. Eye height must be between 1-1/8 inches to 1-3/8 inches (28mm to 35 mm) from the bottom of the photo;
4. Photograph background must be white or off-white;
5. Applicant image must be centered and facing forward;
6. Photographs must be taken in color (NOT black and white);
7. Position subject and lighting so that there are no distracting shadows on the face or background;
8. Be taken in normal street attire, without a hat, head covering, or dark glasses unless a signed statement in submitted by the applicant verifying the item is worn daily for religious purposes or a signed doctor's statement is submitted verifying the item is used daily for medical purposes.

Your U.S.A Vias photograph must relfect your current appearance and match the dimensions of the sample. The dimensions are the same for passport application forms DS-11, DS-82, and DS-5504.

Digitized Photographs

If you choose to submit digitized photographs, they must meet the passport photograph requirements or they will be rejected. Some printers will produce an unacceptable photograph in which the dots are seen, or the image is grainy. Acceptable photographs are printed on high-quality photographic paper, have a continuous tone image that is very photo-like, and show the subject clearly in focus.
