Today we celebrated Jenn & Ross’ wedding at Matfen Hall, one of the Best Venues in the North East of England. It was the perfect day as the suun shone over this fabulous couple. They are a match made in heaven, not taking life too seriously as we were laughing from start to finish.

We are delighted to announce the completion of our quarter of a million pound refurbishment programme of the East Wing at Matfen Hall Hotel and Spa.
Matfen prides themselves as being the leading wedding venue in the North East and we are very excited to share our stylish new look. We make sure your marriage ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party is just as you dreamed it would be.
Our focus is on you and no one else. After all, your wedding will be the only wedding taking place at Matfen Hall on your precious day; no matter if yours is intimate or large.
The Great Hall
Sir Edward’s Bar
Leading from the Great Hall, to the left the guests will be entertained within the dark, sumptuous cocktail lounge with crystal lights, enveloping wingback chairs and relaxing music. Sir Edwardβs Bar provides a relaxing space, with textured wall finishes, in rich blues and greens accented with artisan brass metalwork on the bar counter.
The Terrace
Leaving Sir Edwardβs Bar, guests will be guided to The Terrace Room. The original windows with centuries old timber paneling frame the spectacular backdrop of Matfen Hall gardens and golf course. The high ceilings adorned with decorative plasterwork, sympathetically picked out in muted colours to match the original Hall mirror from 1834 that sits above our beautiful fireplace.

The Vault Bar
Our Vault Bar provides the setting for your evening celebration in the cellars of the original stately home. They create a unique location for you and your guests to dance the night away. And, the opportunity to enjoy every sip of our signature Strawberry Blonde Mojitos.
Cloisters & Courtyard
The Cloisters is our very special outdoor space which can be used for your evening event. We can also provide you and your guests with food and drinks in our unique courtyard.
