Sunderland AFC
For over 25 Years we photographed every player for Sunderland AFC. When Phil joined the football club, we photographed his personal and team headshots. In the Studio and out at the Stadium of light we got to know Peter on a personal level. David also had the opportunity to photograph Tanya, Phil’s wife. She was writing her first book and needed some headshots taken for it. Now Tanya has a prominent role on the hit TV show, The Housewives of Cheshire.
At Sunderland, we were also involved taking pictures for promotional and advertising jobs. This involved taking pictures of the Team, the Staff, Merchandise, Game Days and much more.
Who is Phil Bardsley?
Phil Bardsley was born on June 28, 1985 in Salford, England
The 32-year-old now plays for the Clarets after completing a switch from the Potters in July 2017. He kicked off his career with Manchester United in 2003 after growing up close to the club’s old training ground. Bardsley plays in defence and made his international debut for Scotland, due to his father being born in Glasgow, in 2010.
Having come through the Academy ranks at Old Trafford β where he had started as an eight-year-old β Bardsley made eight-top-flight appearances as United finished second to Chelsea in the 2005/06 title race.
In total, Salford-born Bardsley made 18 senior appearances for United, as well as gaining first-team experience from loan spells with Burnley, Royal Antwerp, Rangers, Aston Villa and Sheffield United during his time at Old Trafford.
In January, 2008, he left United to join Sunderland and went on to spend six-and-a-half seasons in the North East, helping the Black Cats stay in the top flight.
Bardsley made exactly 200 appearances for Sunderland before becoming a free agent and joining Stoke in May, 2014.
